Over the last 15 years now I have taken a great interest in my Family tree and ancestry. None of us are becoming any younger, new generations have appeared and I've even managed to produce a son and daughter of my own. For their benefit and for my extended family I have endeavoured to assimilate all the family history I know as well as many hours of dedicated research into the Census records and military records to discover as much as I can about how we came to be where we are now. I am aware that we have distant relatives in London as well as probably in Canada and it recently transpires Australia. It would be nice that perhaps someone out there is also looking to find their long lost relatives in the North-East of England and that is also the purpose of these web pages.
Over the years I have also managed to collect a good selection of photographs as well as links to places where our family resided. As time goes by these links will be extended and new material added.
Special thanks are in order to Maureen Watson, Maud Hamilton, Liz Ince and Gloria Potter who have provided a wealth of anecdotal information, family trees, photos and verified theories. The furthest I can, so far, trace back the Wrights is to Piercebridge near Darlington, on to Lamesley then on to Framwellgate Moor near Durham, Heworth and finally to Gateshead. I have also included extensive information on the Booth family of my paternal great-grandmother as well as the Davisons of my paternal Grandmother and my mothers family the Youngs, Guys and Strachans.
